Ropes Course Philosophy

The Trey Watry Ropes Course offers your group a chance to play, learn, and grow together in the beauty of God’’s creation. We provide all the gear you will need and a staff of highly trained facilitators to run the course. Our course is ideal for school groups, youth groups, church groups, women’’s groups, men’’s groups, office groups… or just about any type of group you can think of… we would love to have you here!

Challenge by Choice - At Longridge, our challenge course elements are always “challenge by choice.” This means the choice to participate and the level of participation is always put in the hands of the participant. Our staff encourages each participant to set a personal goal before he or she begins the element. Whether you complete all the elements and scream all the way down our giant swing or you overcome fears by simply climbing halfway up the cargo tunnel, participant’’s level of engagement is up to you!

Experiential Learning -Our Ropes Course is experience-based learning. We learn together what it means to take risks, to have faith in other people and to trust in a God bigger than ourselves. From these experiences we learn and grow. It is our hope at Longridge that each participant will learn more about themselves and the group as a whole during their participation in our course.

Worship - God created us for passionate and abundant life. Throughout scripture, we see God calling people out of their safety zones and urging them to take faithful risks. Abraham was called to leave his homeland and Peter was called to step out of the boat. Both believed that God’’s grace was big enough to secure their safe passage. The ropes course is an environment where we begin taking risks and learn what steps of faith can mean for our lives. As in life, the ropes course demands physical, mental and emotional trust in that which is bigger than ourselves. We hope that this experience will provide the basis for fruitful discussions and practices in your group.

All CDI inspections are based on current standards of the ACCT. The Association for Challenge Course Technology. CDI is a Level 3 Professional Vendor Member of The Association for Challenge Course Technology.

Ropes Course Prices (when in combination with an overnight retreat):

Requirements:

Participants must be ages 10&Up

All participants must have a signed release form (available on our website)

All participants must wear either tennis shoes or boots

A minimum of twenty participants.

Completion of the Ropes Course takes about two hours per ten people. A maximum of twelve people can complete the course at one time. Time does not include Low Ropes Course (included in price - estimate another hour).
