Hello! I am Addie and I have joined the Longridge crew for my 4th summer as a Super Summer Staffer. I am So excited to be here with all the awesome staff members that I will be serving along side all summer! We have been together for 1 week and today we embarked on our second week together. I have had a blast working to prepare the camp grounds for the campers that will arrive in a few weeks and those who will come as the summer continues. I am so thankful to God that I am able to be here and will get to meet and share Christ and his love with each camper that comes to spend a week with us this summer!
Happy Tuesday!

Oh my goodness, I’m SUPER EXCITED for camp!!! It’s my first year as a staffer, but I already know that its going to be an awesome and Jesus filled summer. All the staffers have been working super hard to get this place clean and neat for all you campers. There is so many staffers you HAVE to meet. There is Nate the sweet heart, Justin the silly kid, Bethany the smiley one…..and SO MANY MORE
. This weekend the staff had some crazy fun on the blob (for those who don’t know what a blob its like a “big pillow” that you jump on) and slide by the lake. Today the new staff (me included) started training on the rock wall. I climbed it three times. I’m going to be so sore tomorrow but it was so worth it. I can not wait for the campers to get here. I am ready to have some fun and praise me some Jesus
See you all soon but until then be safe, stay cool and always keep God first.
From the super duper excited staffer,
Adam Ewing

After our first week together ,for Orientation, we were all insanely exhuasted! (But in the BEST way possible!) Our bodies may have been sore but, all of the hard work we have gone through this past week were all things to help get the grounds looking good. In doing this we are preparing Camp to become a means for those who come through these gates to be ministered to by us, through Christ. The cycle is a bit complex, but the end result is simple: We’re working hard to prepare to bring children & teens that come to Camp to God. Not only have we fufilled a lot of the prep. work for the grounds, but we are already being touched by God in our own lives. Through all that we do, we wear a smile, we feel him in our prayers together, our bonding, and through our devotions with Mr.Frank. We have already begun to grow as an amazing Staff Family, just in one week! How exciting?! This weekend went by fast, some people stayed on grounds and spent more time together, others spent the time at home, like I did. I can’t speak for everyone who was away, but I missed my fellow staffers like they had been my friends for years. Now we are all back (safely!) and conquering our second week! (Training) Last night on our return, we had our annual whiffle ball game (New Staff VS. Old Staff). Old Staff ended up winning, but New Staff was in the lead for quite some time, and uhhhh we TOTALLY rocking
! This was our last event as Old Staff/New Staff. We have broken down that barrier and now we are simply: STAFF! There are about 12 of us New Staff that our training this week for the High Ropes Course-We’re all excited and having FUN!!!
All and all, I’d say we’re OFF TO QUITE AN AWESOME START!!!

Hey yall! It’s Bri and we just finished an awesome day of work at camp! Were still in the early weeks of preparing our campus and selves for the much anticipated summer ahead of us! Today, a bunch of our new summer staff started training for our ropes course. They worked hard learning and tying knots to get ready to kick
of our ropes course extravaganza this summer! While others were getting trained for the ropes course, the former staff spent the day finishing up work around the campus. Painting the canteen, building a new horse shoe set, pressure washing the sidewalks, and other odd jobs took our time as we enjoyed being out in the summer sun! I’m super excited to meet each of the campers this summer and see returning campers from last summer. I’m so blessed to be a part of what God’s going to do this summer through camp!
See you soon!
~Bri

Greetings future campers!! I’m so excited because this is my very first blog post as a Summer of 2011 Super Staffer at Camp Longridge! I hope you are all as excited as I am for the fun, fellowship, and memories to be made this summer. As you probably already noticed, the title of this update is called ‘Operation: Pine Straw.’ For those of you who have been to Camp Longridge before, you know that there are pine trees everywheeeeeere! We have all been working like busy bees to get it all together, but we’re almost done! We’re doing our very best to make the camp grounds beautiful for you guys and gals to enjoy God’s creation. From the lakefront to the volleyball court, we’re cleaning it all up in preparation for a summer of complete fun and awesomeness! Again, i’m SUPER excited for this summer and can’t wait to get to meet you all!! It’s almost here!!!

Hellooooo everyone Its James Newton a 2nd year staffer , welcome to the 2011 camp year. All of us staff are here for our first week together get the grounds ready for the many children and guests that will be coming. this week we have been getting ready for Open House this weekend May 21, 2011. Well our day started off by joining in the dining hall for an awsome breakfast consisting of eggs. bacon, biscuits and oatmeal. Then we all ventured out to our assigned duites ranging from raking pine straw to pressure washing the the sidewalk. Then later on we had hotdogs and sandwiches for lunch then went to orieantation with Mr.Frank at the lake chapel. After that the staff had free time so we went swimming in the lake, played pool or just took a nap. So then it was time for dinner Chicken Fingers, green beans, and biscuits. Then we went to have bible study with Mr. Frank, and went back to working some more. So while our day was coming to a close we met with Mark and Scott in the Orange Team room talking about how we view the cabins in our eyes. Then we got done and went to bed. Well we cant wait to see you all this summer.

In the morning, it seemed like any other Friday–the campers got up bright and early to pack up and then it was off to breakfast, just like usual! But, today was unlike any other Friday. After breakfast, the entire camp went to the stop of the stairs to the lake where the bell hangs. This summer has been one filled with celebrations to last for eternity, namely each of the 150 boys and girls that gave their lives to Jesus on the grounds of Camp Longridge. To celebrate each of these souls that were saved, the staff rang the bell 150 times as the campers and leaders counted each ring. The sound of the bell tolling echoed over camp, and it was an emotional and joyous new tradition for the end of the summer.
After this ceremony, we went to the chapel for our final praise gathering! The praise band led us all in exciting worship songs, and Mr. Frank gave a devotion with a baseball glove–just as the glove requires a hand inside of it to do it’s job, so do we all require God’s hand in our lives so that we can do His will. As long as we abide in Christ, we can do anything He can do, just as the glove could do whatever Mr. Frank wanted it do as long as he wore it.
After a final canteen break, it was time to finish packing and cleaning the cabins! Once everyone was packed and the cabins were looking good, the campers gathered together for a final team activity.
After this, we gathered in the Chapel for lunch and the awards ceremony. Every camper was recognized and awarded a ribbon for their participation in Peanut Patch Olympics, and the winners for each Peanut Patch event were also announced along with the winning team, camp champions, and Bible drill winner. After the conclusion of the awards ceremony, we all joined together as a camp family to sing the theme song, “Alive Again,” one last time.
From a veteran staffer’s point of view, this summer has been one of celebrations, of committments, of rededications and salvations, of new friendships and reunions. We have sought to glorify our loving God in every team activity, every devotion, every conversation, and every song, and He has responded by blessing the lives of hundreds of students and leaders, as well as shaping and directing the lives of staffers who may not have expected to leave the summer so affected.
Each day with your students was a joy! We hope to see each of you on the grounds again soon for camp retreats and of course, for Summer 2011!
Gratefully,
Hillary Beasley

We made our way from the cafeteria to the chapel for our afternoon praise gathering where we sang some awesome songs, and had our bible drill. After that came bible study with our teams. Then the peanut patch olympics finals. We had a terrific time playing pool, fooseball, football toss, basketball, darts, ball bounce, pillow polo, goodminton, bean bag toss… and so much more. alright where was I. Hi everyone! It’s Betsy and we had a great Wednesday!! We started off with delicious pancakes for breakfast. We then went to the Low Ropes and participated in many different elements with our cabins. This allowed us to trust each other and build stronger relationships with our friends. After Low Ropes we went to the lake where we slid down the slide, jumped on the blob, paddled the canoes, and swam in the lake. It was so much fun! Then we went to lunch and ate chicken sandwiches, salad, fries, and cake. After lunch we had our Praise Gathering and sang a lot of songs. We then broke off into our teams and went to our Bible Study. After the Bible study we had Peanut Patch! We bowled, played basketball, threw the football, played darts, and participated in many more games. It was REALLY fun! After Peanut Patch we had a very good spaghetti meal for dinner. After dinner we went to chapel, sang songs, and listened to Mr. Frank speak on the word “T.H.I.N.K.”. We learned how we should think before we speak. After chapel we had a canteen break where we went to the gift shop and canteen. We then had our talent show! This was a special talent show because it was our last one for the summer. We were able to see many different talents and skits from all the campers. Each team did a great job on their skits! At the very end the staffers acted out a special story Mr. Frank narrated. It was extremely funny and made everyone laugh! We had a wonderful day and we’re looking forward to a great Thursday!!
