Rise and shine!! All the campers at their cabin pole in a straight line!. After breakfast was quiet time, and yes this is a blog full of rhyme! : )
The day was warm, beautiful and bright, all teams ready to go with power and might! All teams competing for that spirit flag…you can sure bet no team was a drag! The team activity was our low ropes course, which every team tackled without remorse! With twelve o’ clock rolling around, the campers were listening for that lunch bell to sound! After lunch was peanut patch games, then lake time with the blob and slide…with which everyone couldn’t wait to ride!! The lake closed and everyone off to clean up for dinner, its only Tuesday and already everyone is feelin like a winner!! Then its time for josh and the praise team to sing, then following is the message that Mr. Frank will bring!! Some accepted Jesus into their heart! and the promise is that you nor Jesus will ever grow apart! After a long day of fun at camp…everyone is ready to turn off the lamp! goodnight campers..and see ya tomorrow!

The beginning of every camp week starts on the day, Monday. Today, Monday, here at Camp Longridge the staff woke up bright and early to get the camp grounds ready for the new campers of this week. Just like every other Monday, the campers came pouring out of their churches vans with excitement of what was to come. This Monday was different, each camper had a new face and a new mood about them. I, Andrea, was very happy to find that this 20th day of July [yes, a Monday] brought back a few campers from last year.
After the “unpacking in the cabins on Monday extravaganza” occured, everyone on the grounds was quick to get to the swim test and other lake time activities. This Monday lake time gave me the opportunity to meet and greet with many campers. All of the campers I met today, were happy to be here at camp on this very fine Monday.
Monday dinner was great, as usual; you know, the BBQ! Yum… Monday dinner! Mr. Frank’s Monday night talk taught us what it means to be a Christian. There was a good number of campers that came to saving knowledge of Jesus Christ on this exciting Monday.
The late night, Monday night team activity (Volleyball!) went well. Green and Red dominated the court this Monday. Who knows who will win next Monday?
As this day, Monday, comes to a close, I would like to thank all for your time spent in thought and prayer for all of us here at camp. Please do not give up on us yet; not this Monday. We still have one more week of camp after this one; which means one more Monday to celebrate new beginnings.
Love,
Andrea

Today was awesome! We started out with a great breakfast and that really got us all pumped for the day. Then we headed to the chapel to hear a message from Mr. Allen. After that we had our canteen break which is always fun. Then we headed back to the chapel for our talk back time with our teams. After talk back, it was time for the olympics. All of the teams did simply amazing! There was great team work, encouragement, and team bonding between all of the campers and the staff. Then we had lunch, which was very refreshing and it got us all ready for our afternoon activities. Then we headed to the lake and we played some greasy watermelon football in the lake. Everbody did an amazing job and we all had a lot of fun together. After that we had lake time and we all just got to lay back and enjoy the sun. After lake time we got ready for dinner, which was delicious. After this we headed to chapel, which included talk back time and an awesome worship service. The band was amazing and Mr. Frank brought a great message. After this we had an ice cream extravaganza and we all really bonded as a group. We truly did have a full day but it was totally worth it. I had a great time and I’m really sad to see this week coming to an end! We have had an amazing group of students this week and I am so glad I have had the opportunity to spend it with everyone!

“Brevity is the soul of wit.” -William Shakespeare.
This morning bright and early,
With fog so thick and curly,
A high ropes course group met,
34′ off the ground without regret.
Breakfast was so decadent,
With crisp bacon so excellent,
The pancakes had so much syrup,
They made everyone cheer up!
Joshua with his guitar,
The music is always above par,
Alan Daniels brought the word,
Team Talkback was far from absurd.
Chaos was our game of choice,
Where every camper has a voice,
Crazy things on their staff they pour,
Leaving their staffers begging for more
Lunch is always an important meal,
Respite from the sun and a chance to heal,
It was everyone’s favorite feast,
Because of the sumptuous ROAST BEEF.
We went to the lake quick fast in a hurry,
so all of the teams could then show their fury.
With the fabulous game of CANOE TUG-OF-WAR,
Lake time activities are never a bore.
And now the lake opens and up goes a shout,
As all of the campers go scurry about,
They go to the blob where they once had their doubt,
Because they were itching to go try it out.
“The lake is now closed, so go to your cabin!”
Hannah shouts through the megaphone and we make it happen!
Let’s go and get cleaned up before we go to dinner,
The feast we have laid out makes us all feel like winners,
Spaghetti and meatballs with red or white sauce,
With love from the kitchen, where Addie’s the boss.
Now back to the chapel,
A.D.’s gonna talk,
As we all learn our lesson,
About walking the walk.
Josh Hannah Becky Justin Tucker Andrea A.D. and Ian,
The praise band is rockin’, and we are all singin’,
Worship expressed through the medium of song,
If we could, we would keep this up all the day long.
Mr. Frank brings a message of abstinence with love,
A fish wants a worm dangled by Tanner above,
As we all face our worms day in and day out,
We have roses to remind us there’s always a way out.
We have canteen break time, to relax and play volleyball,
then we come to the talent show, we’re far from the curtain call.
As each of the four teams show off their own creative spark,
Fred the Flying Squirrel has Josh acting like a lark,
The rest of the guy staff backs up Joah with dance,
As the campers laugh watching all the manly men prance.
I hope this sesquipedalian rhyme hasn’t frazzled your mind,
all of us campers and staff are having a great time,
It’s sad to see this lovely Wednesday drawing to an end,
But never you worry, we WILL be back again.

Today ws lots of fun. As usual. After breakfast we went into the chapel for worship. Woke our selves up with some intensive, motion driven songs like River of Love.
Low ropes went really well. Everyone learned to work as a team to make it through the various, exciting elements. We had wild and crazy lake time. Canoe sinks and synchronized swimming. Evening chapel was amazing. AD led in worship then we had our movie. Which was also awesome. But now it’s bedtime for us and ready ourselves for another exciting day.

today was the start of a brand new week here at Camp Longridge. the campers arrived to staffers who were eager and ready to greet them. From there they went to the team rooms to get pumped for the team they were going to be on and we made sure all the kids were excited. Then we headed to the lake for lake time, it was a great and warm day and the water felt cool and refreshing. All of the campers had a blast on the blob and the slide. After a fun time on the lake it was time for supper, we ate a hearty plate of delicious barbeque and some amazing apple cobbler. camp continued over to the chapel to sing the worship songs and get prepared for the message Frank preached. He talked about all the different decisions we should make as we walk through faith. but camp didn’t end there we went to our canteen break to refuel and get ready for the volleyball match of the teams. the volleyball games were hard fought battles and all of the campers were still happy. It was now time for cabins time to get to know all of the campers in the cabins and get to sleep to get ready for another fun filled day here.

A great day to end a great week. Our last ropes course group went up this morning. Then we had our final worship service led by out leaders for this week. And they did an excellent job! All the students pitched in to clean up the chapel as well as the rest of the camp. Then we all headed off.
It’s been a wonderful week with a lot of great students.

Today was an amazing day. We started the day off with a great breakfast. Then following breakfast we had quiet time where we are learning how to pray. We also had small group time this morning, where we discussed the bible story, the Samaritian woman at the well. Once we finished our small group time, we had team activities where we played some wonderful games with water. Today we also had a regatta, which is a boat race. For this event, each small group built a boat our of materials like logs, trash bags, boxes, etc. Once everyone had finished thier boats the small groups raced against one another. During chapel tonight, we were able to have communion in which all students took part of. They did communion in small groups. During this time, students were able to pray with their groups things they concerned about and many other things. Overall tonight was a wonderful night and all of us can’t wait for what is in store for us tomorrow.

OH MY!! Tuesday at 2.0 was AMAAAAAAZing!! We completed the low ropes course with our small group and really bonded. Justin and I lead the music group andd love it! The group has been getting along really well and did angreat job at the Latte tonight. It was our coffeehouse atmosphere of a talent show. We sang “Lean on Me” and had a ton of fun with it! Chapel tonight was really humbling for me as were the stations. We talked a lot about how Jesus HAD to go to Samaria. It was neat to be challenged as to where and what God is calling me to! It has been a really awesome experience this week as I have really sensed God’s presence and I think the students have as well. On a slightly different note… I went down the Bullet for the FIRST time today!! Oh it was FUN!! Being a counselor, I don’t often get to hang out and participate in lake time, but I did today. It was a blast! I’m really excited for tomorrow!!!!!!! :) Becky
