It is so good to see kids back at Camp Longridge this week! This morning went by quickly because of all the excitement that the staff had. Campers started arriving around lunch time today and since then have been full of energy about EVERY activity! I’m so excited to see what God has in store for this week! He has been doing BIG things in the lives of these kids just tonight..I pray that He is raising up Kingdom changers this week! The RED TEAM has been super pumped today and that makes me very happy! I hope that everyone has a great week!

All the campers and staff awoke for this fun Friday morning and began our final day together. A group headed to paintball, a group to high ropes and then all together ate breakfast and worshiped the Lord together. The finalists of the Bible drill competed for the title of Bible drill champion. We then all gathered for one final activity at the lake… canoe sink. It was a great competition with TONS of cheering for every team. All the teams played awesome and we all had a great time. We then gathered for lunch in the chapel. We saw pictures from the week and Aqua team was announced camp champions for the week. GO LAND AND SEA! Blue team was awarded the spirit flag for the awesome and extremely excited and loud cheering they gave this week. We then heard a word from Mr. Frank, sang the theme song one more time and said our goodbyes. It was a fabulous end to a fabulous week.

It’s been a super duper awesome fantastic day here at Camp Longridge during our Classic week with youth groups from right down the road in Lugoff, all the way to a church in FLORIDA! Today we took all the cabins up to the low ropes course to experience some old classics such as the King’s Finger and the Spider Web and also to be the first ones to test out some other BRAND NEW elements! After a super awesome time at the lake, we all headed up to lunch (mmmm, barbecue!!) and then Jimmy, Logan, and I went to the high ropes course with a great group of students! Sad to say, we had some rain today too so we got a little wet, BUT it was a blessing to us because we weren’t so hot anymore! Tonight we continued the tradition of team skits after an awesome chapel service by the praise band and Mr. Frank, and i’m happy to say that the SILVER team won! Yes, sparkle hard silver team, because AQUA team is probably gonna win next week… or maybe ORANGE TEAM? BLUE? RED? GREEN? Anyway, it’s been a great week here at camp, and I look forward to an awesome day tomorrow! God is good all the time!

Hey everyone! Welcome to Mac Daddy Monday at Camp Longridge! My name is Jordan Widgeon and I am a 1st year Staffer at camp this year! Today was nothing short of AWESOME! The amazing students arrived today and have been having a blast so far! Once everyone was registered and unpacked, the famous Clark Lake was open for everyone to enjoy All of the students got to experience the amazing blob, the super cool slide, and the ziptastic zipline! Once lake time was complete, all of the teams met at the team tables for our very first set of team activites! The unstoppable Aqua team won the challenge for the identity formation and the 2 LEGIT Orange team won the challenge for the still life pictures! Dinner was incredible! The menu was: chicken tenders, green beans, pasta salad, apple pie, and ICE CREAM! Chapel was fantastic! Mr. Alan Daniels and the praise team led us in worship! Mr. Frank then gave us a message on the three types of people that can be found in 1st Corinthians 2 and 3. Then it was VOLLEYBALL TIME! All of the teams got to play against other teams and then there was a very intense game of staff vs. campers! Mac Daddy Monday was a super duper day and I cannot wait to see what God has in store for Camp Longridge this week!

Hi Friends!

Amy King here! Today was an excellent day! I got to play on the high ropes course with an awesome group of people and enjoyed some beautiful rain after dinner. God keeps showing me how big he is through his beautiful creation in the midst of these busy weeks. I’m amazed that the summer keeps flying by and am excited to see the next few weeks. Please pray for energy and continued provisions for each staffer. We have three more days in the week and next week we’ll turn our focus to Youth Classic Week beginning on Monday!

Good Morning blog readers, my name is Abby and i would like to share with you what a great week we are having at CL. This week we are hosting a pretty awesome retreat group. All the staff are super pumped because while the retreat group is doing their activities we are making some improvements to some of the activities we do during our camp weeks. As we prepare for next week it is exciting to anticipate how God will manifest His glory at camp. I hope to see you all soon.

So this week has been so so awesome for me as a staffer, I have really experienced God in this week with the kids because of the bonding time we have in the cabin, I find myself more and more open to them every day. I love hanging out with them, I have found out that after getting to know them on a personal level they are more prone to respond positively to request and rules. This has been a great week for us here at camp longridge and it just keeps getting better and better!

Hello blog readers…first year staffer Amber here. Kids Week 2 is well under way with our Wednesday almost over. We started our day with Cabin quiet time, Cabin 9 talked about Proverbs 3:5-6. Then breakfast into morning worship and bible drills then it was time for the LOW ROPES Course which everyone did with their cabins to help them learn about teamwork and communication. Then of course everyone headed down to Clark Lake for some swimming or blobbing or the slide and zip line then lunch time followed by team skit rehearsals into canteen break then back for team bible study where we learned about a women who lost but then found one of her coins and we learned that the angels in heaven celebrate every time a sinner repents then PEANUT PATCH! then some cabin down time until dinner into church group time into chapel where we learned about the mottos of the armed services and how to apply them to our lives, after chapel it was time for canteen then CELEBRATION OF CREATION TEAM SKITS where all color teams did an amazing job, we also had some leaders play some games on stage, the girl and guy staffers also did funny skits, it was the ORANGE team who took the win this evening but AQUA team sure did great, I can’t believe Wednesday is already over…can’t wait till Thursdays shaving cream blast and then to see what else God has in store for the rest of the week.

Hey, my name is Nate! This is my second summer working here on staff and I love it!! We had an awesome day today during our second kids camp! Some of the kids got up and went fishing this morning, then had a cabin devotion time, then headed up to breakfast! After breakfast we got ready for praise and worship gathering and had our first bible drill! The kids did great searching for the bible verses. This morning for our team activity we had what we call “chaos” and other games where the kids got to get their team leader really messy! It is so much fun for the kids and they love it! After this event, we went to the lake for lake time! I was a lifeguard today at the lake and it was awesome to see all of the kids having a great time! This afternoon we had bible study and our peanut patch Olympic games! In all of the bible studies, we learned about “The Good Shepherd.” The kids had a blast being able to play a lot of games during peanut patch to win points for their team! Tonight, we had chapel with music and a message by Frank Shivers. After chapel and canteen break, we watched a Vegietales movie about Daniel 3, “the fiery furnace”. Today was a full day, but an awesome day! The kids had a blast and they are excited about what the rest of the week holds!

Hey everyone I’m Abby, a first year staffer at Camp Longridge. Today was the first day of the second week of our Kid’s Camp. What a Blast! All the campers and staff are super pumped for the week and cannot wait to jump into a full day tomorrow. The energy we got today from all the campers shows us it is going to be an awesome week here at Camp Longridge.
