Today was a great day at camp. There is an awesome group on retreat here and we have been doing a lot of fun stuff! This morning we played an awesome game of paintball. The teams were 14 against 15 and it was intense and action packed couple of rounds. After paintball we all went down to the lake for another group session of blobbing, zip-lining, and sliding. Today could not have been more action packed!

Another awesome Tuesday… what a surprise, right? Actually, no not really. It was a terrific day to finish up our Tuesdays of the summer. we woke up early to a full breakfast and then met with our staffers for quiet time. From there we went to Praise Gathering and learned an awesome song called “Jesus is the River of Love”, also known as Jesus is the Rock and He rolls my blues away. BOP SHOE BOP SHOE BOP WHOOOOO! Sorry, I got a little carried away, but it’s a great song, probably my favorite from the summer. After Praise Gathering, we had team Bible Study and then walked up to the Low Ropes Course. It was a lot of fun and took a great deal of teamwork to work around each obstacle that awaited us. From there we went to lunch and then to Peanut Patch. I play Putt Putt and have a blast. When I was younger I even dreamed of being a professional golfer. Anyway, then we went to LAKE TIME! It is a big highlight for many campers. With the Blob, the Bullet, the zipline, canoes, crafts, and swimming there is SO much to do! We even got some extra cabin time and were able to spend it getting to know our cabinmates. Then we went to dinner and had a great chapel service where Mr. Frank talked about the Fruit of the Spirit and how we as Christians can and should be displaying these fruit in what we say, think, and do. During our cabin devotion, we played a game with a beach ball throwing it around having everyone name a Fruit of the Spirit and what it means. I think it helped us all to remember what each fruit represented. It was a fantastic last Tuesday and I’m sad to say it was the last for the summer. I can’t wait until next year!!!

Today was such a wonderful, action packed day for everyone. We began this wondeful day by having a visitor come and show the kids karate while telling them about Jesus. After that we headed to activities, which was Olympics. Today the kids participated in a sack race, foot race, football toss, frisbee throw, putt-putt, archery, horseshoes, three legged race, and canoe sink. We all had a great time and while the kids did the events, everyone else cheered them on. Next,we had shaving cream fight where the kids were able to chase and get the staffers and adults with shaving cream. By the end, we were all covered in loads of shaving cream. To get all of it off, we headed to lake where the kids were able to do the blob, zip line, slide, and swim. Once lake was over, we then headed to the cabins to clean up and then we all headed to supper. When we had finished supper, we went to the chapel and heard Mr. Frank preach on different types of shoes we should wear as a Christian. Once the service was over, all the churches met to talk with the groups and then the staffers made a hug line where every child was able to recieve a hug from a staffer. Once we left chapel, we had a canteen break where we did one of our last activities which was volleyball. Everyone had fun working together and cheering one another on. Finally, we finished our fantastic day with Ice cream!

Today was another fantastic day at Camp Longridge!
First, the campers arrived for registration, which went smoothly, and immediately after that, it was lake time! After the swim test, everyone had a blast swimming in the lake, getting snacks from lake canteen, going down the awesome water slide, and, of course, catapulting off the blob!
Rain never stops the fun at CLR! After lake time was over, everyone headed to their cabins to play some games and get to know each other and their staffers before our first team activity of the week! After a few rounds of enthusiastic cheering, all four teams competed in a Sidewalk Chalk drawing competition, where they illustrated different scenes from the Bible.
After a delicious dinner of barbecue and green beans, we all headed to the chapel for some exciting worship led by the Praise Team. Following the songs, Mr. Frank taught us all about what it means to be a Christian.
Next, we had a canteen break, and ended the day with a few more team activities, including big ball volleyball, sand sculptures, and still picture building, where each team froze in a scene from history. Then it was off to cabins to get sleep, so we can all be ready for more fun and excitement tomorrow!
We’re all looking forward to what God has planned for us this week!

This weekend we have had a group from the Cove hanging out at camp. It is the first retreat that I’ve had the opportunity to work and it is neat to be able to serve in a brand new way. We had awesome weather for the day and lake time was a blast! It’s a good group of students who are having fun. Right now they are even down at the lake making s’mores over the bonfire! It has been a great weekend and the perfect way to end a fabulous week at camp!

Our final day together began with a delicious breafast and fun times sharing laughs with our friends and cabin mates around the table. After breafast the campers and staff headed to the chapel for some worship and a devotion led by Mr. Frank. We than headed to our final canteen break to enjoy our last time to eat snacks and play volley ball and tetherball together. The campers and cabin leaders then went to the cabins to pack up and clean up. This was a great time for the cabins to soak up the last minutes together. Following pack up, we participated in the last team activity. We had a blast with our teams enjoying our last time together. The awards ceremony and lunch began next. We saw a slide show of pictures from the week and all the campers loved looking at pictures of themselves and friends! Cabin leaders reconized each camper and peanut patch ribbons were awarded. Everyone played hard and enjoyed peanut patch. Camp champ was awarded to the boy and girl camper who played the most peanut patch games and the Bible drill winner was given his prize. Next, the team leaders gathered and Mr. Frank announced that ORANGE TEAM WON! All the teams were great competetors, but orange team came our the winner for the week! We then prayed together and sang the theme song one final time. The week then came to an end. We were all sad to say goodbye, but have great memories of our week together!

Today started out with smiling faces as the kids prepared themselves for an awesomtastic last day of camp! We arrived to breakfast with the smell of bacon floating in the air. After breakfast we broke up into cabins and had devotion. Always one of my favorite times of the day where the staff and kids just bond and learn with one another! Next we headed over to the chapel for a morning worship session with Joah and the praise band!
After a jump start and “rollin’ our blues away” we broke up into team rooms and had some game time. Tours of camp, 7up, name game, za, whack, 4corners and all sorts of exciting games! After all the craziness the kids are ready for a sugar rush-time -canteen break!
Team bible study follows canteen break in which each team learned lessons such as Daniel and the lions den, the good Samaritan, or Joseph and the colorful coat.
“Down by the river! Took a little walk!”…yep that’s the sound of the kid’s cheering on the way to the hill for OLYMPICS! To open up the ceremonies the girl staff had a vicious battle of pickle eating! It was a close one…but Kensie beat us all! Soon to follow- the kids participated in events such as footrace,three-legged race, football toss, Frisbee toss, or sack race! All the teams did an awesome job! To finish up the festivities before lunch time we all walked down to the lake for canoe sink extravaganza!!! Members from each team are chosen to participate in a canoe sink in which they have buckets and simply-try to sink the other teams canoe!
Back up at the dining hall we played a wonderful game of lunch time charades with the staff. Meatball subs, fries, and brownies with nuts!
Peanut Patch playoffs proceeded lunch. The children had a great time battling different games in hopes of winning for their team and camp champ!
The most awaited time of the whole entire week was soon to follow…SHAVING CREAM FIGHT!!! Kids vs. staff(staff never loses). We had a great time battling it out with shaving cream galore all over ourselves. By the end the hill was like fresh fallen snow!
The last day of lake time was simply awesome. Double blogging, slide, canoes, and zip line. It was a beautiful day to which I’m truly thankful for so the kids were able to enjoy themselves!
After cleaning up everyone walked up to dinner. Chicken, baked potatoes, blacked eyed peas, and rolls with Delicious chocolate cream pie!
With our bellies full and our faces clean it was time for chapel. After an awesome night with the praise band Mr. Frank taught the lesson of the shoes. Shoes like running shoes-representing discipline. Discipline yourselves to get up and spend time with your God each morning. Or shoes like bed room slippers-don’t get lazy on God. And my favorite shoes-the tootsie roll advertising flip flops-meaning for us to advertise our salvation and tell others about Christ.
Immediately after chapel everyone hastily walked to canteen excited for more team activities and candy! In the dining hall we served home made ice cream-complete deliciousness! The teams had some heavy competition as we engaged our minds in some alphabet word games and silent film acting!
With the last day ahead it was time to wrap up Thursday. We all went to cabins and partied the night away with snacks, music, and tons of fun. As the night got later we all climbed into bed while the sound of the rain lulled us to sleep.
An absolute wonderful day of activities, ice cream, shaving cream, and lake crazies! A lot to be thankful for on this Thursday!

So today started off great just like every other day here at camp. we woke up bright and early with nothing but smiles and messy hairdews. we ate a delicious breakfast of pancakes, bacon, and cereal. after we ate breakfast we went to chapel for our early morning worship. in early morning worship we sang a few exciting songs to get our energy levels up and our spirits high. we then went to an amazing canteen break where we got hyped up on candy and soda. from there we went to our team rooms and learned some great things from our team bible study leaders. next was our team activity team which proved to be challenging yet fantastically fun. we played chaos, where our campers got to do some messy things to our staff like: paint their faces, make shaving cream hairstyles, feed them prunes with their feet, and so one. after an intense round of chaos we went to a riveting game of simon says. after challenging our minds we then went and replenished our bodies with a hearty meal of roast beef sandwiches and some nutritional cookies. mmmmhmmm. after lunch was our peanut patch which all the kids played almost every game. after peanut patch was a fantastic time down at the lake where our campers enloyed all of our lake time activities. after lake was our super time, which by the way was so delicious. a great meal of spaghetti. who can say that spaghetti is not one of their favorite meals? after dinner was chapel time where we worshipped and learned so much about God. our final activity of the night was the talent show, and boy was there some talent. after many hilarious skits the talent show came to an end and we made our way back to the cabins for another day well done. it was a wonderfully studendous day and i can’t wait for what tomorrow brings.
