Welcome to Work Week
May 27, 2009
Well the staff arrived bright eyed and bushy-tailed Sunday afternoon, ready to get the camp ready for the children headed here in the weeks ahead. We have gotten so much accomplished in the past two-in-a-half days, and are continuing to conquer our lists of things to do. So far, we’ve painted oh so many buildings, and pressure washed the steps to the lake (you should make sure to look at them when you get to camp! They’re gorgeous!!) and other various side walks around camp. We’ve made improvements to the bathhouse including a new paint job on the inside, and we’ve washed windows, and cleaned up the lake area. The lifeguards did an amazing job of tilling the beachhead to get it soft for the summer. We’ve also started on the cabins to make sure they’re full prepared for the children who will stay here this summer.
While about half the staff have been working during the day, the other half of the staff have been going through a rigorous training process to be trained to lead groups on the high ropes course! Today is their last day of training before they’ll be completely ready to take you on a whirlwind of fun in the air!!
Then we all had Bible study with Mr. Frank last night, to prepare our hearts for working with the children coming in this summer and to be able to share the love of Christ with them. We are all praying that God speaks to each child that comes in, and that it’s more than a memory they’ll walk away with when they leave camp.
We’re all looking forward with anticipation for all of you, or your children, to get here for this summer! We can’t wait!!
