The Last Monday! :(
July 22, 2008
What a day!! I can’t believe it’s the last Monday of camp! We have definitely made it a good one!! We have one of our biggest weeks of this year here. The campers arrived after lunch. As the gift shop girl, I had lots of free shirts to give out. I had so much fun with the campers and seeing their excitement as they received their shirt. Down at the lake, the campers took the swimming test and then the lake, blob, and slide opened. I had fun watching the kids jump off the blob. Their faces are so funny!! After lake we cleaned up and went to team tables for a quick game and cheering session before dinner. We had some cabin time before chapel so the campers got to hang out and get to know each other! Then we moved to the chapel for the nightly service. Josh and the band sang and Mr. Frank spoke. He spoke on baseball and relating our lives with baseball. First base was salvation. This is the most important base because you have to stop here before going to any of the other bases. In our lives, we have to be saved before we can go to heaven. Second base was baptism and church. After accepting Christ, you should be baptised and join a church so you can grow in Him. Third base was service. God tells us that our job as a Christian is to serve Him. Home plate is heaven. After doing all the great things at the first three bases, you are rewarded Heaven. The kids really like the service because they can easily relate to the message presented. After chapel, we had canteen break and big ball volleyball. The campers had time to hang out and play volleyball. And now as we end the night, the campers are getting showers and settling down for devotion and bedtime. I can’t wait to see what tomorrow holds!!!
In Him,
Kayce
