Great start to 2.0

Date July 7, 2008

Wow! It has been an amazing start to an amazing week that we like to call Student 2.0 here at Camp Longridge. Today we started off with an amazing song in the opening ceremonies inviting everyone to have a great time this week at 2.0. Then during small group time each group played various games to get to know each other. One of the highlights to the afternoon was prep for worship time when the red and blue teams prepared a video to be shown during worship service. In this video clip they retold in their own way part of God’s Story. This played into the worship service tonight which was about God’s Story. Tonight we looked into creation, the life of Jesus, His Death, Ressurection, and The New Kingdom. It was an amazing service. We ended tonight with the bonfire extravaganza down by the lake. Everyone enjoyed hanging out, getting to know each other, playing some games, and SMORES! The teams then played a few games. I have to say my favorite was the Still Pictures created by each team. Though that game is in tough competition with the toe wrestling that took place tonight. The teams also created some amazing smores to be judged by some of the adults. I believe red team got an award for best use of materials (on a few including grass, lol) and the blue team was the most tasty award. It has been a great start to the 2.0 week. Now all of the staffers and students are showering and climbing in bed. It is time to catch some sleep so  that we can have another extravaganza filled day at camp tommorrow.

Hey Girls, We just viewed your pictures and looks like you are really enjoying yourself. The smores really look great! I was touched and wished I had been there during the worship time when you were writing on the wall. Looks like you were writing about heaven. Remember the things that you do and maybe we can do them at church when you return. I do hope that you have a great week and that you put your total focus on God. It will amaze you how close your relationship with him will grow. We are praying for you. Kristen, hang in there. I am proud of you. All you girls are extra special to me. I love you soooooooooooo much. Keep on keeping on for Jesus. Love, Ma Beth
