Work Week 2006 begins…

Date May 29, 2006

The new staff (minus Scott) came together last night for our first Sunday night meeting and dinner at the Windmill. Today we woke up bright and early at 7:00 for breakfast! At 7:30 sharp, we began work on the camp grounds. The guys worked down at the lake, and the girls began to rake. After a minor setback between Brad and a nail, work continued. The girls cleaned all the cabins, except for 9 and 3 that we are staying in this week. You know we love the smell of Lysol in the morning! We worked until lunch at 12:30, and then began our Orientation. Using the handbook, we discussed some of the techniques to be an awesome staffer, and other guidelines that will help to make this summer incredible! Free time took us various places, including the old staff making a “secret adventure”… As well as some of the guys working to remove the posts from the old dock down at the lake. We had a group dinner at 5, followed by Bible Study with Whitney, our fearless staff supervisor. :)
Work continued from 6 pm until 8 pm, with a lot of work down by the lake: raking by the girls and tractor work by the guys. The evening is concluding with band practice (by the way, they sound awesome!). It has been a great first day of work week! We are enjoying getting to know the other members of the staff, but also awaiting Scott’s arrival next week. Scott: we hope you are enjoying Greece but come back soon! :)

Work continues early tomorrow, so this tired staffer has to hit the sack!
Goodnight and God Bless!
Amanda
