Longridge Latte… Unforgettable

Date June 29, 2005

Today was a beautiful day here at Camp Longridge! No more heavy rain, and lots of great memories…

We began our day in the Old Chapel down by the lake, where Erica and Brad’s group led in Morning Worship. We continued to learn more about the Story of God Mr. Dale (leader from Juniper Bay) spoke about the resurrection of Jesus. Also, the Sign Language Group (my small group- yay!) performed “Arise My Love.” After that, we went to bible study with our small groups. During activity time, the sun shone brightly and the red and green teams were able to enjoy a great morning on the hill. We played Chinese Freeze Tag, Cowboy-Gorilla-Ninja, as well as other fun activities.

After lunch, the Teams had a Competition to build the best looking sandcastle to look like an ancient temple (and Green won, due to the fact that we included a sand-tomb that was empty with the stone rolled away!). Then we enjoyed a nice afternoon at the lake. In Chapel tonight, Mark spoke about the importance of realness and honesty in telling our own stories, just as we have been learning about the story of God this week. It was an incredible message, and Mark shared his own story with us. The church groups met together and after a short break, the second annual “Longridge Latte” began… There was a lot of talent displayed this evening including music, clogging, poetry, percussion, and wonderful skits. Coffee and other refreshments were sold to fulfill the ‘coffeehouse’ vibe. We all had a great time, with some unforgettable memories.

Now the sun has gone down for the day, and I must return to the super special Cabin One! Good Night, and God Bless!

In Christ,

Amanda
