Why consider working at Longridge?

Camp Longridge, a ministry of the Frank Shivers Evangelistic Association, has been in the summer camping ministry for over 20 years. Thousands of young people have experienced life-changing encounters with Jesus Christ throughout these years. The staff are the very heart and core of the mission of Camp Longridge. It is the staff who are with the students almost 24 hours a day during the camp weeks and have more influence on these students than can be imagined. Thus, Longridge offers you a position in which you will have hands-on, intensive opportunity to minister and share with young people. The rewards of these encounters are indescribable and are invaluable to your Christian walk. You will find however it will not always be you doing all the "ministering." Year after year, staff are changed in many ways from their experiences at Longridge. Take a look at this staff tribute video to get a small idea of what the staff are involved in and make sure to check out the weekly videos (available through the main camp page) to see what a week at Longridge is all about.    [Staff Tribute Video: 250K ] Also, make sure to browse through the staff profiles of some of the staff from the last couple of years.

The Application Process:

Camp Longridge is seeking young college students that have a passion to pursue a more intimate relationship with the living God. We are also looking for students who have a willingness to sacrifice all to see other young people experience Christ and grow towards Him. This application process will help us determine if you would fit in with the mission and goals of Camp Longridge. Please follow all instructions carefully and please pray about your decision before you send in an application, as we will spend much time praying over the applications.

Job Description/Expectations:

In line with the mission of Camp Longridge as well as with the sensitive nature of a camping ministry, the expectations are kept at the highest level. All staff are obligated to abide by all rules and codes that are set by Camp Longridge and the Frank Shivers Evangelistic Association. Moral integrity is vital to our continual reputation and operation as a camp. Please also understand that while most of the time is spent in dynamic encounters with hundreds of students, that working at Camp Longridge is also a job. At many times it is a difficult job for all are required to work hard continuously throughout a long summer. Please be aware that all staff are expected to maintain the servant attitude of Christ in all situations. The responsibilities include staying in cabin with about 20 young people throughout each weeks, leading devotionals and quiet times, counseling students concerning spiritual matters, and general camp care. The demands are high, but we make every effort not to make them overwhelming, and while you will certainly be pushed in many areas, we trust that you will find the resulting rewards invaluable to your growth.
